Cape Cod Foreclosures At Their Highest Since 1994

Bankers that repossess foreclosed properties in Rhode Island will have to pay the property tax as well as utility bills in a more timely manner and post bonds for the properties upkeep if legislation approved my the General Assembly is signed into law.

The U.S. senate moved closer to adopting legislation to shield homeowners from losing their houses, voting to limit debate on the measure that the Bush administration has threatened to veto. The Senate voted 83-9 to set a time limit for debate on the bill.

Foreclosures in Cape Cod, Massachusetts reached their highest level in at least 14 years last month, with 54 completed. Lat months foreclosures bring the total for the year to 209. I'm May 2007, there were 22 foreclosures in the region, according to the registry records.
