Print Hello and Welcome!

Jeremy B. Shapiro and Sheila Farragher-Gemma
With another New England winter just about over (we hope!), many investors are already turning their energies towards marketing and selling some of their investments. And with that in mind, this month's edition of ForeclosuresMass Monthly brings you plenty of specific, useful insights from a range of marketing professionals and experienced investors.

We kick off with an article by regular contributor, Ken Lizotte, Chief Imagination Officer (CIO) of Concord, MA Emerson Consulting Group, Inc. Ken's a communications expert, and his powerful article, "Four Marketing Secrets Turn Connections Into Gold," is packed with specific suggestions for increasing both the visibility and profitability of your business.

Next, marketing guru Lisa A. Maini, Principal of myMarketingManager, a full service marketing outsourcing firm in Arlington, goes deep on the topic of identifying and selling an investment property, in her article, "Buy It If It's A Steal." Lisa interviewed several experts in the real estate field in putting this together, and combines the best of their insights with her own expertise in this informative and tactical piece.

Our "Interview With The Expert" segment for April features Dolly Di Pesa, President of Di Pesa & Company, CPA's, a Quincy firm established in 1923. Although there's little to be done concerning your 2005 taxes at this point (other than file your return!), 2006 is still largely unwritten, and Dolly pulls no punches in discussing "The three biggest tax-related mistakes made by inexperienced investors." Take a look, and make sure you're not guilty of committing any of these common and costly errors!

And finally, this month Debbie Siegel's Mortgage Minute - our monthly column in which we explain a critical real estate investing concept - covers the topic of Annual Percentage Rate (APR). Understanding this powerful concept will help you make consistent, intelligent comparisons between competing mortgage financing options.
